Chameleon Habitat | Lighting & Temperature | Drinking Water & Humidity | Feeding & Nutrition
The only UVB/UVA bulbs we recommend are the Repti-sun 5.0 long linear bulbs for chameleons. Please use only 5.0 Repti-sun not Repti-sun 10.0 .There are many other brand UVB/UVA bulbs out on the market that claim they are just as good but through our own testing and experience other bulbs can cause health issues.
For Heating only we recommend using reptile heat bulbs in a Ceramic coated heat lamp which can be purchased from us, ebay or any local pet store. The brand doesn’t matter but please make sure you are not using too high of a watt bulb for your chameleons enclose or too low of a watt bulb. Once again never over or under heat your chameleon make sure they have temperatures no lower than 70 degrees in the coolest area of the cage and no hotter than 93 degrees in the basking area of cage. **Night time temperatures should never drop below 70 degrees** You can use infra red reptile heat bulbs at night for extra heating purposes. Bright Light bulbs should be on for 12 hours then off for 12 hours to ensure the correct sleep cycle.
